A previous Alumni organization was created in 1937 but withered with the outbreak of World War II. The current Alumni Association was founded in October 1951.
The GWHSAA:
provides grants for classroom supplies and student activities not funded by the school district, plus teacher enrichment grants for relevant courses and workshops.
gives graduating seniors more than three dozen scholarships and Principals' Cup awards.
provides news about alumni, the school, reunions and related events to over 6,800 alumni members through our mailed and emailed news as well as social media channels.
encourages closer alumni connections by promoting reunions and other relevant events and providing guidance to reunion committees.
honors and celebrates alumni: The extraordinarily accomplished with Hall of Merit Awards, and the extraordinarily dedicated with Annabelle Marsh Piercy Lifetime Service Awards.
preserves and documents GWHS' rich history with personal interviews and archives artifacts and ephemera we plan to display in a future permanent location of our landmark-worthy campus.
